How to send us print ready artwork.

Sharp prints start with sharp files. Follow these guidelines and your order moves through art proof and production without delays. No artwork yet? We offer free design help on every order.

Step 1

File formats we accept

Vector files print sharper at every size. We accept raster files too, but for large format printing (tents, flags, backdrops) vector is strongly preferred.

Step 2

Resolution requirements (raster files)

If you must use raster files for large format printing, follow these DPI rules at the print size. When in doubt, send the largest file size you have. We will downscale, never upscale.

Step 3

Color modes and matching

Print color is different from screen color. Pick the right mode based on how exact your brand color match needs to be.

Best match

Pantone (PMS)

Industry standard for exact brand color matching. Send Pantone codes (example: PMS 286 C). We match to within 95 percent on most products. Some products with limited color profiles (DTG apparel, dye sub) may have small variation.

Standard

CMYK

Use CMYK for full color photo prints, gradients, and complex artwork. Convert files from RGB to CMYK before sending. We can convert for you, but expect minor color shift.

Avoid for print

RGB

RGB is for screens (web, video, monitors). Print machines use CMYK or Pantone, so RGB always converts on the way to print. Send RGB only if you cannot convert. We will warn you if colors will shift.

Step 4

Bleed and safe area

Bleed is extra art that extends past the cut line so the final print has no white edges. Safe area keeps your important content away from the edge so it does not get trimmed.

Step 5

Fonts and linked images

The number one cause of artwork delays is missing fonts. Fix it before you send.

DO

Convert text to outlines or curves before exporting
Embed all images in the file (not linked)
Use Google Fonts so we can match (fonts.google.com)
Send the original .AI or .PSD source file plus a .PDF preview

AVOID

Live editable text (will substitute if font is missing)
External linked images that arrive missing
Screenshots of artwork (always pixelates at print size)
Word documents, PowerPoint files, Canva exports without proper format conversion

Step 6

File naming and how to send

Use a clear naming pattern so we can match your files to your order quickly.

File naming

Pattern:

How to send files

Email files under 25 MB to art@promomogul.com
For files over 25 MB use WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive shared link
Upload directly when placing your order on the product page
Always include your order number or company name in the email subject
