Three ways to build a step and repeat

A step and repeat is the logo wall behind red carpets, press lines, award nights and photo spots, printed with your logo repeated so it lands in every photo. We sell three ways to stand one up, all printed in full color by dye sublimation.

Pop up tension fabric backdrop

An aluminum frame with nylon hubs opens out, then the printed graphic attaches across the front and wraps both 11.81 in end caps with hook-and-loop fasteners. The finished wall is 12 in deep, so it stands on its own and looks solid from the front. Single sided: the back of the frame is not covered. Two sizes, 8 ft (89 x 89 x 12 in) and 10 ft (118 x 89 x 12 in), and the kit comes with a black nylon carry bag. See the pop up backdrop.

Straight pillowcase backdrop

The printed fabric slips over a lightweight aluminum frame like a pillowcase and contours to it, so the face reads as one smooth surface. The frame assembles with push-button connectors and labeled joints and stands on slim swivel feet. Three sizes, 8 ft (about 90 x 90 in), 10 ft (112 x 89 in) and 20 ft (about 236 x 90 in), and it is the one backdrop here with a double sided option, for a wall people walk around. Step and repeat banner stand

A printed fabric banner with pole pockets along the top and bottom, on a telescoping stand with 1.625 in poles. It comes in 10 x 8 ft or 8 x 8 ft with a travel bag, and the banner prints at 116 x 92 in or 92 x 92 in to fit its stand. The banner is printed at 720 x 720 resolution, scratch resistant, washable and curl-free at the edge. Single sided, and it packs into its travel bag. See the banner stand.

Not sure which? Compare the straight pillowcase backdrop and the pop up backdrop first: pillowcase is the one you can print on both sides, pop up is the one with repeat patterns to pick from. For the largest photo area and a press line, the 20 ft pillowcase is the widest we sell.

Setting one up

The pop up frame opens out on its nylon hubs, and then the graphic attaches with hook-and-loop. The pillowcase frame joins with push-button connectors at labeled joints, and then the fabric slides on. The banner stand extends its telescoping poles through the top and bottom pockets. Each one packs into its own bag afterwards.

What a custom backdrop costs

The printed graphic alone is a refresh for a frame you already own: a new event, a new sponsor list, the same hardware. The pop up and pillowcase frames are also sold on their own. Ordering several? A 10 ft pillowcase backdrop is $439.99 each at 2 to 5 and $409.99 each at 6 to 10.

Measure before you order

Backdrop sizes are named by display class, not height. The 8 ft and 10 ft pop ups are both 89 in tall, about 7.5 ft, and every pillowcase size stands 89 to 90 in. The banner stand is the tallest, with a banner printed 92 in tall. Check the wall or booth width, and the ceiling height if you are under a low soffit or a hotel ballroom partition.

The printed file is larger than the frame face, because tension fabric wraps the frame edge. On the pillowcase backdrop the print is about 97 x 92.6 in for the 8 ft and about 116.7 x 92.5 in for the 10 ft. Build your artwork on our template for the size you order and nothing important ends up around the corner.

Designing a step and repeat banner

The pop up backdrop and the banner stand come with a choice of repeat patterns, so you can pick a layout instead of building one:

• 1 Logo Basic or 1 Logo Big & Small for a single brand.
• 2 Logo Basic, 2 Logo Big or 2 Logo Large in Center for a host and a sponsor.
• 4 Logo Diagonal for four logos set on a diagonal.
• No Pattern for your own full artwork, or Let Us Design and we lay it out from your logos.

8 x 8 or 10 x 8 for your photo area

The banner stand is 8 x 8 ft or 10 x 8 ft, and its banner prints at 92 x 92 in or 116 x 92 in. Choose by the photo area you have: measure the width of the wall or corner where guests will stand, and pick the size that fits with room to spare. We do not give a headcount per size, because a photo area works differently for a press line than for a group picture. The 10 ft Backdrop Display Package suits a full indoor booth, the Trade Show Canopy Kit suits an outdoor booth, and the Trade Show Displays page shows everything else for a booth. For a wall people walk around, use the double sided pillowcase backdrop instead.

Think about the photo, not the wall. A lot of the pictures taken in front of it will be cropped to head and shoulders, so repeat the logos small and often enough that at least one lands beside every face, and keep them above table height. What a tension fabric display is

A tension fabric display is a printed stretch fabric graphic pulled over a lightweight frame, so the print sits smooth and taut instead of hanging. The graphic comes off, so a new design means a new graphic, not a new frame. Our pop up and pillowcase backdrops are both tension fabric walls; the graphic is stretch polyester knit on an aluminum frame.

To store one, fold the fabric graphic loosely and keep it with the frame in its bag, somewhere cool and dry.

Each piece can carry a different design, and every piece gets a proof.

How ordering works

1. Choose the backdrop, the size and Complete, Printed Graphic Only or Frame Only on the product page, then a repeat pattern or your own artwork.
2. Add your artwork on the product page (PNG, JPG, PDF, AI, EPS or SVG, up to 50 MB), or send it after you order by replying to your order email or writing to info@promomogul.com. No artwork yet? For displays, tents, flags and table covers, choose Hire a Designer when you order and a designer builds the artwork from your logo, text and notes. You approve a free digital proof before anything is made.
3. We send a free digital proof. Nothing prints until you approve it, so check spelling, colors and placement there.
4. Production starts on approval. Ships within 2 business days after you approve your proof. Most orders arrive within 10 business days (US lower 48). Shipping is included.
5. You get a tracking number when the order ships.

Catalog sizes can be added to the cart and paid for by card. Anything outside the listed options, or any quantity you want priced properly, goes through a quote. Tight on time? Tell us your event date before you order and we will confirm it works. Need it sooner? Faster shipping is available for an extra charge. Tell us your event date and we will quote it.

We do not accept returns or exchanges. Everything is made to order against artwork you approve, so there is no stock version of it to take back. Replacements and refunds apply where the error is ours, the product is defective, or it does not match the approved proof. The full terms are on returns and damages and shipping and production times.
